Steve Crandall, a noted scientist, recounts how carving out time to collaborate with friends can yield inspiring results, like a space program for $500.

About TEDx:
TEDx (www.ted.com/tedx) was created in the spirit of TED's mission, "ideas worth spreading." The program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.

At TEDx events, a screening of TEDTalks videos -- or a combination of live presenters and TEDTalks videos -- sparks deep conversation and connections. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis.

  • Nice...but WHERE IS MY ROCKET PACK??

  • An interesting way of looking at things. I would never have thought of linking collaboration with science. I like the way he illustrated how his decision to tithe his time opened the door to unique opportunities and led to him connecting with people that he would never have met otherwise. Cool presentation!

  • Steve Crandall offers great advice on creative projects... He always seems to have thought-provoking projects underway. Scientist, conceptual thinker, weirdo!
