I was sent out to shoot a basic VO/SOT, but decided to seek out what interested me and turn a natpack instead. The people who had "wounds" had to be "made up" by someone, right? Otherwise it's just a story about a fire drill.
My first news director said to me "If you can make gas pumps interesting, then you're cut out for news photography." He was right. It's taking the mundane and making it extraordinary that sets apart the best video.

Well I hope you had a good time- oh I think there are other tv stations who were there and newspapers. Did any of us camerapeople come over and photograph you? Where were you located, because we were told to stay out of the way of the rescue crews and to be mindful that it was an "active" scene, so most photogs gave the event a lot of room. I may have an outtake with you in it. I'll post it for you if you can describe yourself, the colors you wore, injury, etc

What I was doing yesterday morning -- my "injuries" weren't severe enough to get photographed
