@olijay96 The higher the DPI the faster your mouse moves with less movement. So in other words moving your hand an inch with a 5.6K DPI mouse will make your cursor travel to China faster then the speed of light.

@jabcreations thanks for the help ;)

@tugaxD23 Deactivated on Newegg. :( I would like to note that non-Gnome desktop environments for Linux have a LOT of trouble with RAT mice. I emailed their support and they made it clear that they had no intention of improving Linux support. It's a slow and painful process to fix RAT mice in Linux (as Linux has some wonky permission issues and then gives you no sane way to get around them for editing a simple text file). I won't be buying any more Cyborg mice and will likely go back to Logitech.

it is better than my MX518?

@rich1051414 I think the higher DPI is something that advertisers think will fool people in to thinking a product is better, the same thing applies to contrast ratings for monitors I've read, the numbers are so ridiculous (even if true) that they lose meaning and become pure noise.

@jabcreations i have a 5.6k dpi mouse, and it never gets set higher than 4000dpi, as it is rediculously overkill, even dropping most modern games to the lowest sensitivity, it still spins you in circles with the slightest movements.
can u make the mouse longer

@360snow555 Yes, the palm-rest has a screw and metal rings that you can add or remove, not sure about the lower end models though. I should mention that the mouse is NOT friendly to many Linux desktops however it seems to work fine with Gnome.

bought the rat 5 also ,its only downside is that the cursor while you listen to loud music and the desk is vibrating the cursor will start jumping like crazy on the screen lol ,which isn't cool at all,if it wouldn't had that problem this would be the most amazing mouse ever

@aowfan Laser mice and possibly optical mice can have their sensors interfered with by various things such as magnetic fields such as from fans, I'm not sure about vibrations though you should seriously consider minimally HALVING your volume if it's interfering with your mouse and not for the sake of being able to use your mouse though for the sake of still being able to hear in five years.
