And to think when I was there on my first trip in '81 we looked over there and said, "Shit, it looks like ther are waves over there" and just hung out camping on the left with no one around.

Surfed it yesterday 25th April. 2 foot swell on surf 2 surf website at low tide. Nothing on the points. Small close out at Wainui/Ocean. Paddled across, wasn't too bad on my 9 foot board. First wave was over head high and steep. Made it through most of the wave but it is pretty fast. Best wave of the day and would be good on a short board. Good option on the small days at low tide when Ocean beach is too small. Ocean beach packed with surfers but only guy on a SUP and mate on a kayak at bar.

how often does this break?
i think i herd or read somewhere that it doesnt break very often but the guy talked like it broke quite a lot/ same as the points

Not as consistent as the points...surfable maybe 3-4 times a month depending on swell, tide and wind etc
