Im from Fontana and we just came back from san francisco, the city and bridge is so beautiful and what i loved the most was the 65 degree breezy weather and the beautiful women .. we went to north san francisco but that we came back down to the south because we were told that all of the excitement was down there and we would loved to go back there but in another few months

@michaelisbell46 Yeah, I lived in the Bay Area for about 10 years. The fog/marine layer is very common near the water...I THINK even more so in the summer.

Such a beautiful part of the country...well, or the world for that matter...
It's a shame that California is being run into the ground.

on the day that the Golden Gate Bridge opened in 1937, Frank Merriam was governor of California who served from 1934 to 1939

is it normal for that much fog to be surrounding the bridge?
Kidrainenfina - Anything you want to talk about? It looks like a bridge in heaven in the fog, doesn't it?I live in Marin and it feels like heaven when I cross it to go home. It is heavenly to take a walk across the bridge. It makes you feel full of life and invigorated. Otherwise, it is not a Bridge to Heaven in that sense. I am happy to talk, my number is on the front page of my site.

Do they close the bridge when there's that much fog?

@jaynarbmw No.They sometimes close it for wind.

No fog does not equal depression. Fog is beautiful, ethereal, mystical, and moving. it moves in and out. It can be quite graceful or dramatic. It sometimes crawls in under the bridge or rolls in over the hills. In the winter we have another kind of Fog called "Tule" fog that sets in and lies in low places. I don't personally find any of it depressing, but in the middle of Winter with the gray skies others might find it oppressing.
