Polyethylene + GOx Hybrid rocket test fire 3

By using a smaller pipe in this test I made sure that the polyethylene tubing was snug to the inside wall of the pipe , this helped avoid the poly melting on me and clogging the nozzle as in previous tests. As a result I got a longer more intense burn, despite having used a smaller pipe and less poly. During the burn I could clearly see shock diamonds but because of the brightness of the flame they aren't visible in the video. I could also faintly see smoke circling the nozzle, an interesting effect. Close to the end of the burn the galvanized steel end plug got so hot it started to degrade and showered sparks everywhere. After killing the oxygen the galvanized coating on the end plug could be seen burning green for a few seconds. Finally, I blasted the lines a few times to make sure the polyethylene had burnt completely. The End.

I am testing with a similar design using solid ruber and gos and I keep burning up nozzles when the psi is above 40 or so are you having a similar problem are do you use a different nozzle material I am using grade8 steel but am considering graphite.On a side note I tried to use a small spray can for a gos tank for static tests (BAD IDEA) and it blew up while against my chest leaving the worst brusing Ive ever had Im lucky to be alive!
