Yesterday, May 28th, 2010: The day my life changed forever. I shouldn't say "finally" because I haven't had my T-Maxx for a long time at all but the 28th of May was the day that I decided to take out my engine and replace my EZ start system with..... Pull-Start. Amazinggg is what it is.

Obviously, everyone has their preferences. There are a couple things I do not like about it though:
- I always feel like I'm gonna break it for some reason. I do not treat it like I'm starting a lawn mower by any means, but a pull-start just seems fragile.
- If your engine isn't up to temp or your tuned incorrectly, you will have problems starting it (or if you didn't prime it I guess). But by no means will your arm "hurt". It shouldn't if you're doing it right.

However, I love it for two main reasons:
- Don't have to carry around that damn ez start wand that always needs to have a charged battery for it. Just carrying around the glow ignitor now. :)
- Plus I took out that extra motor and gears that were part of the ez start system and that took off like 1/4-1/2 lb.

Overall: Definitely a SOLID investment.

  • hi

  • @dengad111 Sup? lol

  • i see the pull start cost 15bucks, is this all you need to buy to convert the 3.3 to pull start?

  • @Evanh359 Well you need to make sure that you have a glow starter, i prefer rechargeable but that's just my opinion. Other than that I'm pretty sure that is everything because the ez start system has the bearing that you need, you just fasten the pull start over that. So yeah I think that is all you need!

  • is it a 3.3 with a 2.5 pull start

  • @juvatude42 I'm not really sure.. I think its a 3.3 pull start. I will take a look at it next time I go home. Sorry
