I do an open carry clean up on my yard every weekend,Ive had police that have seen me wearing my pistol and turned around and come back going slow as they pass back by my shack,Ive never been confronted though.Just observing my Second Amendment rights,I would like to see more people carrying, not only would it cut down on crime, but then maybe people wouldnt gawk so much when they see someone carrying.

I'm surprised a libertarian state like NH has checkpoints.

They are constitutional because the SCOTUS says they are, and that is the form of our government. You may not like that fact, but it does not change that fact.

Conotoxin, yes, you are right. In 1990, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that these "sobriety" checkpoints, did indeed, violate our 4th Amendment rights and were instrusive, however, that because drunk driving is a problem, that they ruled 5-4 that they were constitutional, but THEY ARE NOT!!! Internal roadblocks/checkpoints do indeed violate our 4th amendment constitutional rights. More tyranny is coming to America....STAYED TUNED!!!!

So, why are there internal checkpoints/roadblocks in America? I thought our "beloved" U.S. troops were overseas fighting and dying for our so called "freedoms", so things like these things DON'T happen in America? Israel, and 3rd world countries have internal checkpoints and these checkpoints should not be in America. So, is America really free? No! America is a huge police state and Americans are losing their "freedoms" and constitutional rights. Our troops are fighting and dying for oil.

I just went thru a "sobriety" checkpoint in Nashua, NH last night. I had to stop and show my "papers". The NH state police were there and stopping every car and harrassing people. It was on West Hollis St., which is a one-way street and there weren't even any warning signs ahead telling the motorists there was a checkpoint ahead...it was total imtrapment. I thought our "beloved" U.S. troops were overseas fighting and dying for our "freedoms", so things like this DON'T happen in America????

Except that you are factually incorrect:
Michigan Dept. of State Police v. Sitz, 496 U.S. 444 (1990).
The Supreme Court held that these checkpoints met the 4th Amendment standard of "reasonable search and seizure."
The constitution defines the Supreme Court as the final arbiter of constitutionality, so the claims "they are unconstitutional" and "violates the 4th amendment" are just dead wrong.
Thank your local police for the checkpoints! They are taking the DUIs off the road!

I went through one of those seatbelt checkpoints in Indiana. I stopped at the drug store and bought a marker, big yellow cardboard sheet, and shoe string. Wrote something like "Wear your seat belt" in huge letters and walked up and down the street about a 1/4 of a mile away until they left. I didn't want to put checkpoint b/c I was afraid that would break some law. I saw a bunch of people putting them on and giving me thumbs up. So saved some people some money. I can't wait to get to NH!
These checkpoints are a total violation of our civil liberties, what happened to probable cause? Theres a radio station where I live that announces on air where these checkpoints are, so it cant be illegal to wave a sign giving people a heads up. Yet.
