@quangphangbang : i am not a pro, and just understood Warping in Live, but i'll try to explain.
Live has its internal tempo, lets say 120 BPM. You import a 70 BPM audio file and obviously it's not synchro.
This sample is just one measure of a Soul song. You put a Warp marker at the beginning of it, and one at the end. Now you can stretch this portion to give it the lenght of one Live measure. This apply to an entire song where you put marker at important places to keep synchro until the end

how do you warp a self-made track? I made two midi tracks, but I can't find out how to sync them so the beats go together. The bass is fine, but the piano part is too fast :(
-
How do you move the warpers without affecting the track like you did ? Or has this changed in live 8?

Thank you

agreed, i tried bang bang by nancy sinatra, its like the most off-beat song ever
i gave up

Hmm, so if i understand the theory behind warping this way....the middle of the track doesn't matter for mixing live and therefore doesn't need to be warped. Only the intro and outro are required because those are the sections that will need to be quantized for the transition...?
most people don't use the warp function to fix 4/4 electronic music, but old tracks that are not as simple as that one. in the case of your track, even if it's a bit off, you can mix it easily, matching tempo only once. The problem is (and i think that's why they invented warping) with songs that have changing tempos... just sayin'

@aoterou The auto warp is just not accurate enough, it will almost always need a little adjusting. With perfectly straight 4x4 tracks, it's mostly the first beat that it misses. So it's definitely needed to pay attention to.
