The rise of bovine TB has been directly proportional to the fall in dairy prices since the loss of the Milk Marketing Board. Farmers have been forced to adopt ever more questionable intensive practices to produce ever cheaper milk that, supposedly, "the market" demands. Vulnerability to TB infection has been only one of the results. Small farmers are desperate. Many hard working family farmers have killed themselves. We can't blame them for being taken in by government propaganda.

Furthermore, you are not in any position to question an industry that you clearly know bugger all about. Try a days work farming, that would be a humbling experience for you. The shame is most definitely on you!

How on earth do you think farmers provide so much food for this country if they are so lazy? Try taking a step out of your town into the countryside to see what a devastating effect TB is having on many farmers and their animals, do you think it any better that 37,753 cattle were culled last year due to TB? Up to 1/3 of badgers in a TB hotspot can have the disease and though a vaccine will help, what about the badgers that already have it? They're not cured. They need to be culled.

I don't suppose you townies know any cattle farmers to discuss what a devastating effect this is having on their animals? Firstly, 'for many it shall be a slow and agonising death' is a completely wrong assumption, they will be shot with rifles by marksmen, killing them swiftly. Secondly, how is the fact they will be shot at night secret? We've been very open and honest about strategy. And thirdly, night shooting happens daily, has anyone/anything ever been accidentally killed in the UK? No.

I wrote the last comment, about culling humans with TB in jest,as to my way of thought we are no different to animals. But compared like to like. Humans are the most dangerous of creatures, evil humans mask it well, but with most animals you know straight away what they feel and may do most give unconditional love once they trust

you. Humans can rarely be trusted . Unlike animals who show their true colours from the start. Many humans belong at the bottom of the pyramid of evolution.but Not all

TB is now on the increase in humans too, due to AB resistence. Not only due to irresponsible prescribing to humans by humans, but farm animals are given ABs as a prophylactic. Instead of good husbandry by the farming industry. This in turn caused strains of TB that can't be cured. GREED is what its all about. So lets cull the few humans that now have and pass on untreatable TB, and while we do that, the people / humans who are responsible We could also use them for hunting Not animal's

You know damn well this isn't about saving badgers, this is about finding a scapegoat like humans always do when our population or our way of life is causing problems. Instead of admitting that those are the problem and doing something about it we find another animal species to blame and most of the time end up mass killing them. In Great-Britain it's the badgers, in my country it's the foxes and wild boars, in Canada it's the seals and so on.

I agree with you that people are the source of the problem.

So as you said it is our problem, that we have created and so is our responsibility to find a solution, if that means culling a few badgers to benefit the health of the entire badger population then that is what has to be done
