This is the 82-70 with 90 xli chassis and motor upgrade. This is during color pin. Just showing a little bit of how these work.

  • yeah, the brakes aren't very reliable. they overheat or the set screws on the nuts that they stop come loose all the time. to make it worse, the pads are about 50 bucks a piece

  • Curious, I know the B.E. motors are rotated 90 degrees (to avoid pileups causing stators to burn out by pins wedging against the motor/klixon) but how are the sweep/table motors improved? And I never seem to have any problems with our SS chassis *shrug*

  • well, i'm not sure what chassis your'e using, but with this upgrade, the motors use a brake to stop the motors instead of relays like the older style. the brakes aren't the most reliable thing, but i never cared for the relays

  • No Thanks,I enjoy my friends old AMF 82-70 without extra fancy parts.

  • well, really, this upgrade simplifies the machine even more. it gets rid of the old chassis and installs this new, easier to use one along with better motors for the sweep, table and backend. it really is much better and easier to work on.

  • We use the 70's but we haven't got the 90xli upgrade. We do have a different clutch on our dizzys though. Basically it's just the cog. A black curved thing around the cog and then a spring. And when you put it on it tightens its self up and adjusts its self. Obviously you need to have the dizzy at zero for this to work. It's stops pile ups (pinjams) dead and requires little maintanance. Btw I'm only 18 and only been working with pinspotters for around 10 months.

  • That blue pin at 00:53 is very beautiful...

  • they use the franklin style motor.. (i dont care for the braking mechanism) but the 82-90 machines are just as good or better than the 70's
