The Shins allowed me to make a music video for their song Black Wave. I entered it into the Lawrence High School 2007 Focus Film Festival. There, It won Best in Show at the 2007 Lawrence High School Focus Film Festival, Best Music Video, and Best Editing. I was honored with the priviliges of showing the film to the band personally backstage after they played in Lawrence. Below are some links of the footage 6 News took of the events. How did you get to work with The Shins? That is a dream for me ::sigh:: You did a terrific job, though. I had to stop what I was doing just to watch this it was so beautiful =)

Woa, speechless. Seamlessly edited, blended the film and animation together masterfully, you can hardly be sure which element you're watching during the transition because the colours stay so consistent. I love the disorienting spinning at about 2:23 that matches the similar effect musically to a tee. You blend the visuals to the audio cues so well but not absolutely so it's not slave to the track time and allows the mind to wander as it should. Just, wow, keep making films man, keep doing it.

@baletxxx it is man. alot of the shins songs have some heavy emotions that ive attatched to them too. so your not alone homie!

I don't know why, but this song always makes me a bit sad. Maybe it's because of the memories that I have with it.

Absolutely breath taking. You would'nt know it, but The Shins are a huge influence on my band. Fantastic art and a fantastic song, you sir are a real artist.
