Amazingly short take off in the Aero Commander 520 - only 600ft!

I'm off just before the threshold, which is about 600ft from my start at El Monte when measured. Quite impressive! Granted, I was lightly loaded with just me on board and about 2 hrs of fuel, but still not many big twins, if any, can do that. The steering is a bit bad on mine, so she tends to veer left until you get enough air moving over the rudder. The 520 is the lightest of all the twin Commanders and the geared engines also help it get off much quicker than direct drive engines.
