@brutus2266 Those are chemical fertilizers..so using it to make a tea is useless. The point of tea is to use organic things and beneficial bacteria, etc. Throwing in an actual chemical could have adverse effects. I've never heard of anyone throwing in chemical fertilizers for a compost tea.

@urbangardenfarmer Ok, good deal. Thanx a lot for this info!

Thanks for replying. I cleared the top layer of soil to remove it. I brewed my first batch of tea and used a syringe to inject straight down to the root base. God Bless...

@CaptainDeebag , I don't think occasional use will hurt. Small doses are actually somewhat beneficial. It gives the micro organisms another source of food.

@pval123 , 1.Let it brew with the solids @75degrees for 8 hours. At that point, pull out the solids, spread them around the base of the plants( VERY IMPORTANT). By doing this, your giving the micro organisms something to eat and convert to plant food. Continue to brew the tea for another 24 hours.
2. It should start foaming 12-24 hours into the brewing process. Stir the tea at least twice a day, to keep it fresh.
3. Keep the air pump above the bucket. Use something to hold them to the bottom.

@timewalk198 , great question. My new product Organigro is a newer version of this recipe. You can use it exclusively through the plants life cycle. I brew the dry ingredients once a week and use plain non chlorinated water in between doses. The beauty with organic growing is the plants only take up what they need.
could i also add foxfarm tiger bloom and big bloom?

@brutus2266 , you can. I used botanicare's pure blend pro at first, but I noticed it was too strong. If I were you, I would use them once every three or four brews, at 1/2 strength.

@urbangardenfarmer great video man!!! My only question is how long do I let this brew so I can get started growin explosive plants???

@SexAppeal100 , 30 hours @ 75degrees is a good stopping point. Take the solids out at 8 hours and spread them around the base of your plants. Continue brewing for 22 hours or so.

I applied the compost tea on in my raised bed garden and on my seedlings growing in pots. I went out today to check them and noticed a black furry substance growing in places in my raised bed. Is that supposed to happen? I am new to compost tea and gardening..

@pval123 , I've never seen anything like that. If I had to guess, I'd say it's some kind of fungus?
