Well folks, here it is at last - the first instalment of the Reimagined Power of the Daleks, starring Nick Scovell as the Doctor and featuring guest stars Barnaby Edwards, Nick Briggs and Lisa Bowerman. Part two follows in July and the conclusion in September (but read on for info on a special big screen showing). Made as a 'not for profit' fan film we do hope to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Children in Need via advertising.

Call it a 'work in progress' as some of the post-production work remains ongoing - so the 'movie' version will be different!

The full film will be shown on the big screen Saturday 1st September in Hi-Definition as part of the Power Reimagined Convention http://www.power-convention.co.uk/ which will feature guests including Anneke Wills (who appeared in the original) and Michael Troughton (son of second Doctor, Patrick).

Produced by TNT Films, a lot of people have given their time freely on this project and we thank everyone - read the credits and do visit http://www.tntfilms.co.uk/ if you need a video made for you, or http://www.everybodyelse.co.uk/ if you need music composed!

We've opted not to go full Hi-Def on these releases for several reasons. Mainly so cast and crew get the advantage of their own high definition copy when it's complete, partly because a lot of "borrowing" seems to go on and partly as we are still making creative tweaks so it still has an element of "work in progress". However, we hope you'll enjoy our efforts.

Why doesn't the actor wear the Second Doctor's costume?

Because he's not the Second Doctor. It's a reimagining so it's our own incarnation and not intended to fit into the actual series' continuity

Just wondering are the daleks robots in this movie or are they just normal daleks and they think that it is a robot?

The latter. The Daleks are always organic creatures in a travel machine. How others perceive them isn't generally of interest to the average Daleks.... except in exceptional circumstances........

Wonderful! I do have one (small) gripe, though. Where are Ben and Polly?

Well, it's a reimagined take on the story (and Nick's seventh outing on stage or screen) and his Doctor tends to travel alone..Also with cutting the story down it doesn't leave much room for too many 'regular' characters to get a decent amount of acreen time, so hence no companions!

I'm on board with that. Having seen this AND Nick's first filmed story, I would be very disappointed if the BBC didn't approach him to be the next Doctor after Matt regenerates this Christmas.

Gosh. We're blushing. We've found that Nick's Doctor works well without a companion and we always find a supporting character from the "guest cast" sort of naturally fills the void. As Barry Letts said "always in the service of the story" and we found that the story was best served without a companion character and gave us more room for the rest of the cast.

We'd love to having done "Evil of the Daleks", "Dalek Masterplan", "Fury from the Deep" and "Web of Fear" on stage BUT this film was such a huge undertakings that I doubt we'd have the time, energy (or cash) to do it again.

Well, we had access to seven virtually identical NSDs, so why not?

he isnt a ginger. I thought that at first too but he has black hair. I was disappointed too. but even if he was a ginger it is still a reimagination of the show using more of the old doctor who stuff rather than the newer stuff. so, its not really too big of a deal to anyone if he is ginger or not Because it's a reimagining so it's our own incarnation and not intended to fit into the actual series' continuity. i mean real daleks and stuff but its kinda a spin off sorta too.

This is really well produced, and I like the re-imaged doctor. In the first meeting with the Daleks (transmitted 1963-64), the question was asked as to whether the Daleks were just machines, or if they had something living inside. The Doctor's granddaughter, Susan, laughed, as though the question was too foolish to consider.
