  • so no, the history of african slaves in quebec is not itself the worst history. that's actually my point. cooper wants to treat new france as the south carolina or brazil, and it's historically incorrect to do so. i can think of far worse things in history than the trial and life of angelique

    yes, as a piece of historical research attempting to present objectivity, it is the worst piece of history i have ever read. it is full of bias and speculation

  • i haven't read either of the books discussed here, but i have read "the hanging of angelique" and can honestly say that it was literally the worst piece of history i have ever read.
