@Nutterbutterz95 Then again, I am also the only wretched person in the whole wide world who hates Shosty's 5th...
Maybe I am just a weirdo!

Rarely do I criticize professional performances of musical pieces, but...
This sucks so hard.
The interpretation is awful. I don't even like the instruments used for this (sorry, Shosty). The version for string quartet is so much better. But even interpretations of the string quartet variation fall flat on their miserable faces if the humor and chaos is not exploited.

Pssst I can play the Eb clarinet like that...obv...

In my opinion this performance is relatively void of humour, subtlety and character.
It isn't enough to play the notes!

@rolko52 For whatever reason I cannot post a video response with my video. If you want to view it, perform a YT search for "Ernie Kovacs - "Eugene" Part 1"
-
The late Ernie Kovacs used this selection for the background music on his character "Eugene's" video clips.

I love this!
Every time I hear the Xylophone solo I giggle
Piss my self with joy
Then cry for thirty minutes
