July 2005. I went to visit the couple that used to own my car back in the '90s to show 'em how good she still looked & the hubby let me take THEIR Cadillac for a cruise, talk about NICE!!!
@IrishChris1979 From what I've heard they are good but I haven't owned one yet. The first N*was released in 1993, so 12 years of perfecting the basic design... The RWD LH2 Northstar's have little extras like VVT, higher power output, and can run on regular gas if you want. I'm not sure of the Northstar will be in a 2012 model but I think they've decided to end its production run (but don't quote me).
@darktreason Long distance driving is good for any car and especially a caddy because you clean the engine out of all the carbon that builds up from stop and go city driving and idling. People that have problems with these cars are usually the ones with McDonalds french fries from last year stuck in the seats and who neglect the car by not maintaining it, driving it too hard, or not driving it hard enough and not running the correct grades of fuel, oils, etc.
@darktreason The Northstars do have some reliability issues but they are a car that require premium fuel and aggressive driving here and there since they are a high revving race bred engine that were designed to be driven but not bagged on like a 16 year old and his first car.
I've had the HT4100, the 4.9, and am on my third Northstar powered caddy and I appreciate them. They are all generally good on fuel when you figure out how to be easy on the accelerator and are awesome highway cars.
@SeeGabeGo I have a pearl white 1993 Seville 4.9L base, still one of the slickest Cadillacs on the road. Rides on rails, great gas mileage on the open road and looks damn good for a 17 year old Cadillac; I get compliments on her all the time. In my opinion 20s are big enough wheels for that car too, gives the car the look of cool and classy without being too gawdy. 18's work good too. This body style Seville and the 1982-1992 Broughams are my favs.
I had a 1994 sts 4.6L in 2007 that blew a head gasket. Now I got a 1992 sts 4.9L in 2010 and couldnt be happyer. As for gas on my 4.9L well the fuel gauge works when it wants so fuel mileage is great haaha. I'll post a video of it by the end of the month.
I like the cadillac and many versions of it I don't kno tho I keep getting mixed info about it's reliability.. Some say it uses up alot of gas and some say it's not for driving around for distances Well WTF does it do!? HoP!? lol well perhaps some one can clear this up for me?
Can you run unleaded in these cars??

Stepping on the gas in one of these cars is an orgasmic experience.

@relaxitsonlyagame
Are the '05 and up Northstar engines any better reliability wise versus the older one's?

@DylanMayhew, that's a nice Caddy but it sure could have used the power of a Northstar too...
