@CordilleraCentral Yeah, you're completely correct. Well, I support statehood and I speak proper English. In fact, I feel more comfortable with English than Spanish.
If 20% can speak good english i would be surprised. I believe an study said 16%. Also it's quite funny that most of the people that want statehood can't speak proper english. I know some people that reject statehood and can speak good english and also know a bunch of PNP's that want stahood and only know how to say Yes" and No. Taking that into account i would be more surprised if 5-7 % of the people that support statehood can speak english.
Answering your question a lot of people speak English in PR not everyone cause Spanish is our first language but 5 out 10 speaks English most of them not fluent but yeah we can understand we're bilinguals and that's a good advantage to speak both languages.
