As Fighter Jets take to the sky during the Air-to-Air combat games of Pitch Black 08, the Red defenders on the ground take their positions in order to protect the base from enemy aircraft.
Soldiers form 16 Air Defence in Woodside, South Australia working in unison with their Singaporean counterparts, as they cam-up and set-up a defence parameter around Tindal Air Force Base, providing a 'shield' from air attacks.
Australian soldiers vigilantly scour the skies for enemy aircraft utilising the RBS 70. The RBS 70 can be set up ready to engage enemy aircraft in 30 seconds and includes the use of laser guiding technology as well as the capacity to identify whether an aircraft is friend or foe.

Pitch Black 08 is positioning to be the largest Exercise to date, involving an increased number of participating foreign nations.
