This is a request from RadHazG, which was convenient because I had already been working on the song for a while! Here is Natsukage from the Air TV soundtrack, written by Jun Maeda. The name translates to "Summer Lights". I hope you guys enjoy this.

I've also prepared a Synthesia version of this song using the same audio track, so all of you students of piano can go and study it (or just watch as the flying notes hypnotize you). :p

  • Do you use sustain during the note at 1:13? Maybe it's just me but when I play that part with sustain it sounds kinda odd.

  • @Bridagierz I have a bad habit of almost always using sustain all the way through a song, though usually I'm fluttering the pedal to keep it from getting too muddy (or if I was at a real piano I'd be doing a half pedal kind of thing).

  • @colemacdonald Oh, okay, thanks for the response. I'm semi-new to pianos and wasn't really sure when and when not to be using the pedal. And I'd like to ask one more quick question that entered my mind when I read your response. You said if you're playing a real piano you do the "half pedal kind of thing". So are you saying that while playing the keyboard you don't have to pedal as much as when you're playing a real piano?

  • @Bridagierz Yeah, a generic keyboard pedal basically is on or off meaning you press it down and the full effect is on or you lift it up and it's completely gone. On a real piano, you're right, there's more technique involved because the pedal is sensitive and you can press it part way to get a softer sustain or you can flutter it (shake your foot basically) to get a clearer sound without losing the sustain either. Or you can full on press it for a nice long sustain!

  • So beatifully played! its a shame that this has severl times lower view count than your synthesia video.

Oh, i jost noticed that you play songs from 5cm/s! i know what to watch next :)

  • @N3CR1S Thank you! I'm just glad that there are a few people getting some kind of enjoyment out of the videos. Doesn't matter to me if I get a million views or not! :p

  • @lilmidget155 Thanks... I'm just glad to be able to play. It's a gift that's been given to me and I am just grateful to be able to share it!

  • You actually played this So beautifully! This is actually the best cover, You need more views! >.<

  • @davidomgwork Try Josh's Anime Sheet Music (josh.agarrado.net/music/anime/). There's a bunch of Kanon stuff there, no idea if it's any good but that's usually where I find what I need!

  • @colemacdonald sodas sheets was taken down though, so I don't know where to get the kanon portion from. I can find all the air pieces, but no kanon ones, any ideas? :o
