This is a short time-lapse documenting the approach of Hurricane Igor to the island of Bermuda.

The first portion of the clip is looking eastward over The Causeway and Castle Harbor on the mornings of September 17 and 18, 2010 as Hurricane Igor's cloud shield (initially far in the background) expands northward toward Bermuda, and then completely covers the island by the next morning.

The second portion of the clip, is looking southeast over the Atlantic Ocean from the south shore of Bermuda, in the vicinity of Spittal Pond, on the afternoon of September 18, 2010, and shows the storm's low-level Cumulus field moving southwest (parallel to the shore) while rotating around the center of the hurricane... as large waves roll onshore.

  • Wow, that's amazing! What camera did you use? I need that one as well :D

  • @MeetMyMeatBE Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it. This footage was shot on a Sony FX1000, and for the daytime outdoor scenes I'm was also using a Hoya Pro-Digital polarizing filter on the lens.

  • @vmax135 Looked up the Sony FX1000, and a 3000$ camera is out of my budget at the moment. Can you recommend any HD camera that is below 500$? Thanks.

  • @MeetMyMeatBE Both Sony and Canon have some pretty decent consumer-level models available. Though I've traditionally stuck with Sony and the FX1000 is head and shoulders above the comparable Canon model... in the consumer HD space, Canon's VIXIA line has actually impressed me a bit more than Sony's... so, my recommedation would be to check out the various models in Canon's line and see if there's something that fits your need and your budget.

  • wow as we know your videos are so amazing thank you so match Michael I can see when the wind come strong in the water and in the end i thing the clouds is moving in a Circular motion !

  • @MrShanfara Thanks again! I'm glad you liked this clip... the time-lapse really does make it easy to see the wind direction, and how it changes over time.

  • @vmax135 Are you a journalist, meterologist? Why do you chase storms?

  • @vmax135 Okay, thanks a lot! I got my eye on a Canon Vixia HF10. The HD quality looks amazing and with a price tag of 600$, it's a good deal. Have you ever used one of these?

  • @TornadoWarning Thanks so much, Derek! Glad you liked it.

  • Very nice Michael as always!
