@phil4876 Oh my God: He was my choir conductor!! He's amazing!
-
That was actually a senior member of the choir, Lukas Warren. Our student conductor, when events called for one. I seem to recall Dr. A. being unable to make this service, but he didn't want us to fail to show, so he asked Luke to conduct.

uhh...that's not dr. a. who is this?! is it hella johnson?

We sang "alleleujah at the 2008 GMEA All State Senior Mixed Chorus, and it's a beautiful piece if done correctly as this has been. We had a good tone, but our sopranos were flat. It must really be a blessing to be under the direction of Dr. Armstrong! It's interesting, because the very next year, he came to Georgia's All State event and was conductor. I hate I graduated last year. I am thinking of transfering there next year.

the first is Thompson: Alleluja
I know that piece well
quite complicated

My college choir used to sing a few St. Olaf songs, including the second song in this video, "Praise to the Lord". It was always one of my favorites, after "Beautiful Savior".

This is so beautiful - love the arrangement. What a treat it must be to have them show up at your church to do a gig.

Today is St Olaf's Onomastic Day-
He was a Warrior, a Viking and found his Christianity in his Service to Mankind-
A true Saint is a Soldier for the Faith; not a wimp!
