Stay tuned for lots of new stuff coming up soon.I will be putting out a bunch of new videos on natural fitness and herbal therapies.
Knee problems seem to be one of the most common issues I treat in my practice and so am putting up a video on this problem. There are lots of common sense guidelines in this video to help you learn about different knee problems, ranging from ACL injury, meniscus tears, knee arthritis, patellar tendonitis, patello-femoral joint irritation and general wear and tear problems.
I also go into common sense guidelines on how to prevent knee problems, avoid knee pain, recover from knee pain or injury and physical therapy guidelines that have worked for my patients.
Hi my name is Manu Kalia and I live in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area. I have been fortunate to have lived and traveled through multiple countries throughout my life. This has given me a unique opportunity to meet thousands of people and see how a large part of the world lives. I believe that life is the greatest teacher and it has taught me a great deal about living a healthy and productive life. I love to teach and have been treating patients using both Modern Medicine and Holistic Medicine.
So before I tell you how I became a holistic health practitioner specializing in treating injuries, developing holistic medical treatment and natural wellness and fitness solutions, let me take you back some years...
For the past 16 years I have been working in the medical and fitness fields as an Exercise Science expert, Physical Therapist and Ayurveda Herbalist (East Indian Holistic Medical System). This has allowed me to combine the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda with western medicine concepts of Physical Therapy and Exercise Science to treat patients with complex orthopedic and neurological injuries.
I have also trained both athletes and general population for optimal fitness and wellness. As a speaker and medical professional I have taught this integrated approach to health and wellness to people of all backgrounds and age groups with various health problems.
I am a Clinical Ayurveda Herbalist, having studied both in India and the United States with the world renowned Ayurvedic physician Dr. Vasant Lad and at the Ayurveda Healing Arts Institute of the Medicine Buddha Healing Center. I have a Master of Physical Therapy degree from the American Physical Therapy Association.
My advanced training involved specialization courses in clinical assessment and treatment techniques involving manual therapy, rehabilitation, injury prevention and exercise/fitness. I also hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology with special emphasis on nutrition and exercise science for elite athletes and the general population
This video is for educational purposes only. Please consult with you physician or physical therapist before starting any exercise program.
Thanks, Manu, these videos are great!

Hi. I had an injury too my right knee some years ago for which I had physio. lately If I go walking for some time the next day the lower right side of my back aches. I tried wearing a knee support which helped. I had leg strengthening exercises to do and was wandering if i should start them again or just wear the knee support.

@WIREDFORGO Definitely do your leg strengthening exercises if the leg seems to be weak. Weak muscles around the knee joint might be causing you to change your walking pattern resulting in low back pain. You can also wear you knee brace to support the joint while you are working on getting the muscles stronger. If the low back pain persists, get it checked out because it might be a separate issue in addition to the knee problem. Hope this helps.
