1985 KTXL stereo intro

This is the intro KTXL channel 40 in Sacramento would show before shows and movies in stereo. They had upgraded to stereo, along with a new transmitter on October 27 1985- they had an annoying policy of turning off the stereo signal during mono shows though, and sometimes they'd forget to turn it on right away when they needed to. KTVU in San Francisco did this too when they finally got stereo in 1987.

The music here is the first track from a Telarc CD called "Time Warp", which coincidentally is the first CD my dad bought with our first CD player that same year.

Add &fmt=18 to the end of the URL to hear this in stereo; there isn't much separation but I know the signal was on when I recorded this to VHS Hi-Fi.
