@JohnLennon100 I don't know but in the style I practice I haven't learned such drills yet. That sounds to me sorta like what they do in small circle Jujutsu. You ever heard of that Wally Jay guy? Having said that, I have trained with certain black belts that grab your fingers to control you and it hurts like hell.

@H4I2I2EE I'm referring to these drills, that you control your oponent with one finger, I dont remeber the name of it. But my point is that I've seen these drills that seem so pointless and ridiculous, and SO UNPRACTICAL ...but I still like the basic drills that you learn for the tests, an dI was wondering if there would schools that focus more on basic drills than these ...call them advanced/abstract or silly ones, I dont want to sound dsirespectful that's how I feel.

@JohnLennon100 "drills of one finger" I am afraid I am not sure what you are referring to.

@Darkzey stop pondering and start picking. ignore all of those thoughts of urs.

I have a question ....I've been studying aikido from the line of Saotome Sensei for a while and I'm tired of these drills of one finger, and these silly things instead of focusing more on the real aspects of self defense...is all Aikido like that or is just the school I am practicing? Thanks!

I love this art form, small movements become throws, and its all about submission rather than trying to knock someones head off.
Every time i watch it I am amazed at the grace of it all, I just keep thinking, wow that guy just got dominated.
this would be useful when a cop or someone is trying to handcuff you

I appreciate how he gives the tip to prevent serious harm (breaking the wrist) to the attacker.
