@freacls It would be nice if it could go back to those days and we will have to wait and see what happens this year. Yes, you're right, Sandra Kirk was in the other clip and was on the Gala committee for quite a long time. I do think that these clips are very important as they are part of Barrheads history. Have you seen the clips that I put on of my great grand daughter Lucie, born in Barrhead as was her mum Robyn and dad Jonathan, she is a real darling.

Part two, they don't give you enough letters.
Good that it will be back this year as Barrhead needs events like these to keep the folk of Barrhead together. That's me on the bandstand doing the announcements, a long time ago now. Sorry that you only got a box of chocolates.

The 1987 Gala was the only one, as far as I know, that had an official video made, I have a copy of that video, there is also a copy in Paisley museum I believe, I had it copied to DVD, ( I have mislaid it at the moment ) and the clips are taken from that. There is a part that tells the name of the Gala queen and I will track it down eventually.

Hello freacis, all taken from the Gala video that we had made that year, I was on the committee for 3 or 4 years, unfortunately there was never enough help from the folk of Barrhead and just a small group had to give a great deal of time.
I believe that you are right in naming the gala queen. I came to Barrhead45 years ago from down south and thought it was a good idea to do something for the town.
