Its rediculous to compare gnosticism with "orthodoxy" and then assume gnosticism is "wrong" because it says something different. Orthodox christianity became orthodox not because it was right, but because it won the patronage of the Roman Empire and set about destroying all opposition.

Typical gross oversimplification of gnosticism by the orthodox christians. There were many other groups besides docetic gnostics, each had a piece of the puzzle, but the early gnostics barely had a chance to put the pieces together because they were tortured and murdered. How can conventional christians justify the slaughter of millions of individuals who didn't believe exactly as the catholic pope dictated? This to me is the epitome of the antichrist whose reign is over, thank God, Over.

Gnostics are overwhelmingly born not made. They have the same information as anyone else but are eclectic and can see beyond the limitations of language/culture. What has been left behind would either be merely learning aids or would have been placed at specific locations for a specific purpose. Gnostics are not cookie cutter people as in modern cults. Essenes left at the last golden transit 68A.D. before 2012. To understand, become. Beware of their language emanating from thine own mouth.

most of ancient Egypt was Gnostic before the rise of Islam in the 8th Century. One of the last bastion of Gnosticism were the Cathers of southern France and Norther Spain. The Catholic church's inquisition was cruel and destroyed them. The Cathers took death willingly, for the end of the world was nigh, which was true for them.
