but why skidding??? if it takes you 5 seconds to brake til you fully stop the bike...
if you live in a city with lots of traffic... 5 seconds of braking time could be leathal :)

@thomas92383 ...they are prebuilt if you live in Tempe, AZ otherwise they are shipped to you. The bikes come with everything!

@entree91 A lot of people keep on their front brake. They are cheap and easy to install. If you buy a fixed gear at a bike store they will have a brake. I think it is illegal in most states to sell a bike without a brake?

@entree91 Definitely use the brake until you are 100% comfortable with the bike and not reliant on the brake. When you ride without the brake, do a few rides sans traffic for a bit. It gets easier the more you ride, and a lot more fun!

@entree91 ha ha...always tempted to use the brake, so I took them off completely...keeps things interesting.
