Watching Gatsby vids make me sad thinking that I'll never achieve a great looking hairstyle like the ones from the commercials. To my luck I live in an island (Puerto Rico) where the norm is for men to look like bald headed rats, therefore I've yet to find a salon that knows how to use scissors an achieve a similar hairstyle like the one here instead of just passing clippers all across men's head! :(

@themoaspecial kind of been a while since your comment, but that's why many people tend to style their hair with a straightener (even if it is straight) when styling. I tend to wave the the hair closest to the roots by sort of curling it in the opposite direction to where I want it to sit, then as I go higher straighten or curl it in the other direction. It gives it easier volume when adding product and can look interesting, since you can do it in many ways.
