Occupation Nation: US cops serve & protect the 1%

American anti-corporate Occupy protesters are being allowed back into a New Orleans park, after getting permission from a federal judge. A lawmaker has already called for an investigation into claims of police misconduct in dealing with activists. The movement shows no sign of dying down across America, with thousands demonstrating nearly three months after the first protests in New York. The heavy police presence isn't being scaled back either, as Marina Portnaya reports.

@carpediem1975mx - Agreed, yet how many other western countries have stood up against the fascism that is unfolding? The EU is not immune.. they have partnered with the US in terms of banker induced austerity and the war effort.. No country outside of the Arab world has protested drones. Consider that Cameron once said about Afghanistan "This isn't some neo-colonial occupation"... nothing could further from the truth!

Its not just US.....in almost every country rich people get such benefits....rich people pay taxes, which is the salary for the police, so logically rich are the boss.....

Get rid of the rich? No. There is clearly a problem with authority. If we have a force as strong as the police "protecting us", we should also support for a force to regulate and control the police from abusing their power.
