This is a video, among many from my channel that shows what Freemasonry really is. FREEMASONRY IS NOT A RELIGION, POLITICAL GROUP OR AN AGENDA SETTING ORGANIZATION DEALING WITH CONTROL OVER OTHER PEOPLE, nor does it advocate anything like them. It is an organization which men from any background, race or religion may come and unite together to work towards improving themselves as people and their community.
If you have a video that shows what Freemasonry is, please let me know about it or send me a link so that I can post it.

@W857TYWH408576NW0348 Yeah, might just have a clue, good luck and hope it works out well for you. If not there are other groups like the Rotary society which do plenty of good work and could always need an extra pair of hands.

@mariusdire that's sort of what I thought. I'm chatting with a deputy grand master tomorrow so I'd say he might have an idea ;) His wife seemed to think so.

@W857TYWH408576NW0348 To be honest I don't know, that's something you'd have to take up with the grand lodge you'd come under, or provincial grand lodge if you have one. It's a little too close to the line to call, and any opinion I give on that subject would be purely my opinion. I believe a general theist belief is enough, there's no need for a denomination as the only question regarding religion is whether you believe in a god, no more is asked.

@mariusdire I'm looking at joining too. With regards to the belief in a higher power, is a sort of Karma enough? I'd be a sikh but don't want to grow my hair and wear a weird hat.

@townie76 Scottish Rite does have french roots, a 25 degree rite was brought over by the frenchman Estienne Morin in the 1700's, that was later turned into the 33 degrees of the scottish rite. The name comes from the suggestion the King Charles II had been made a mason during his exile (no proof of this occurring).

@crcharley Utter nonsense re 'Scots Irish' not Scotch btw Scotch is a drink. Re presidents 23 were from Scots descent in the USA. The Irish it seems are great at myth making and talking themselves up. The positions of power and the visionaries were Scottish. Try typing Scottish American into Wiki and you might learn something. As I said the most of your 'Irish presidents are Scots Irish. Who in effect are Scottish. Try and spin it anyway you wish.

@townie76 Kennedy's family came from south eastern Ireland so I miss you're point. Watch how you use the term "Scotch Irish," you sound like you don't want to give Irish Catholic's credit for anything in America. The term is somewhat unclear because some of the Scotch-Irish had little or no Scottish ancestry at all, as dissenter families had also been transplanted to Ulster from northern England, Wales and the London area, and some from Flanders, the German Palatinate, and France.

@crcharley It's you who's an idiot claiming 9 presidents were 'Irish'. I think you'll find most of those were Scots Irish ancestry and even then, having one Great Grandad who's Irish does not make them Irish. Presidents claim Irish ancestry for the catholic vote. John Kennedy who was a prime example who had no Irish ancestry to speak of and used it purely for votes. The signatories of the Declaration of Independence were again Scots Irish. The document was based on Declaration of Arbroath
