aah! memories! great sound effects for the time. I think I was 8/9 when I was hooked on this

I loved this game when i was a kid - plsyed it from the age of about 5, I think & I was obsessed with it! It hasn't dated too well, but I remember it being a lot more of a challenge than your average Space Invaders clone. I got to level 10 only once and the waves of ships coming down was just horrendous!! I think I managed to crash it a few times - probably from the 'beating' I was giving the keyboard!! lol Anyway - thanks very much for this upload - the memories are good! ;)

The Yellow 'boss' ships would sometimes 'escape' and appear in the next wave.

Great - I still have this game. It's not Galaxian. It's arcadians. Well worth the wait for the tape to load it up!

I used to have this game, thanks for the nostalgia. By the way, your tactics are wrong when playing this game. I remember that the best way to play was to constantly fire whilst travelling across the screen back and forth. You wipe them out much quicker that way.

Yeah, I know where you're coming from. When I disassembled the game there is a decision made during the diagonal fall of the alien to keep falling in that direction or to change. The comedy is when your position is close to the switch point and the ships appear to wriggle on the way down. My max. score so far is around 41,000 on a real Beeb - it just gets very repetitive...

thanks for the memory of this. I bought this from a London computer show for £10. Its not bad - good sound effects - but oversized ship and no scrolling star field means that even the NES is better than this version

NES is a lot newer than the Beeb, NES had a 1987 UK release (Japan 1983) - whereas the Beeb was released 1981 and we were playing Arcadians in 1982! Have a look at other shooters in my vids, Zalaga and Galaforce.
