Was it yesterday I saw you in the street
or was it tomorrow?

We were
urgent
responsible
with few minutes left and clean teeth.
We were headed for work.
An early rising army of rested employees

We flooded the streets
we filled the subway
tourists and beggars made way for us
the traffic lights guessed our wishes.
We were freshly bathed and painted.

And it seems to me I saw you
You walked ahead of me.
'wonder how much you earn...
'wonder who loves you....

From behind
you didn't seem like the monster you are
you looked like the others
you looked like me.

And we all kept moving down the street.
We took the corner at a good speed
We gazed ahead
We had energy.

And so it happened
that when we turned the corner
we ran into the giant screen
that shows the world to amuse the tourists.

We were walking towards it
and on the screen
we came.
Two rivers of office workers
marching towards each other
never to meet.

Did we look funny?
An air of synchronized herd
believing to be free and unique.
Two herds of clones.

I looked for you on the screen.
Everyone alike
everyone different!
And, there you where, there!
I saw you front wise!

But, was it you or me that I saw?

A second later you were gone.
Images of other regions replaced us
other tourists, beggars and employees
other refugees and messengers
and the symbol of money.

Was it yesterday I saw you in the street
or was it tomorrow?

  • Very creative both in content and the interplay of images. It's a good example of how a guided experience could be realized visually.

  • Lovely multiple layered piece.

    Thank you Paticia
