  • I too have loved this song since I first heard it back in the 70s. I still have the vinyl album, but my turntable no longer works, so I thought - GO TO YOUTUBE! When you listen to this song, it makes you wonder: what in God's name happened to music in the last 25 years? True, every generation loves their music, but can anyone today write lyrics like these? How many can play classical guitar like this?

If music is a reflection of society, we are aren't doing too well.

  • I always think of this song at Christmas,,Even though we never watch the Queen on christmas day..

A typical English song.. simply beautiful..

Greetings from the Holy Land , i am afraid it's still true for everyone who lives under the same sky , shame ...

  • This is music/lyric writing, & i've loved it from day1. Genius. Play it on vinyl (original) if you can or if your old deck has died trust me the best £100 you'l spend is buying a new one! Bring the plastic to life again, you won't regret it. CD's and digital are great, but go to the original with its clicks and scratches and bumps and you REALLY relive your youth!! It's just warmer and more comforting. Love to all the Genesis fans out there. Phil. PS. I don't watch the Queen on Xmas day either!

  • wow.. memories . Thanks for posting!!!!!

  • wow...it's still as good as ever. always will be.

  • incredible music!i used to listen this album 20 years ago...one of the most beutiful songs ever...

  • Top of their game, Hackett left>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Down hill.

Gabriel top the Lamb, then they had to find their show again and this is the album

After this it is all pop,

  • When i first heard the album and in particular this song in 76 I was 15 and I dont think I have heard anything since to match it. So good to hear that this song had a similar effect on other folk, and i thought i was odd all these years!!
