Jesus & Disciples Preached Hell - Why Do We Shun It?

It is a fact that literal Heaven & Hell exist, yet most people today don't want to hear about hell because they feel offended. But if Jesus and the disciples warned people about the impending judgment of hell, why do believers today find the luxury to just talk about the "goodness, grace and love" of God without warning people about the reality of hell? Perhaps the more alarming thing in our generation today is not only that unbelievers need to hear about hell, but rather, it is the "believers" who claim to follow Jesus yet still continue to live like the world are those who really need to hear about the reality of hell. Jesus is clear that that no unbelievers or lukewarm believers will enter heaven. It is only those who embrace genuine faith revealed through bearing fruits in practical holiness in their lives that are those who will enter heaven, because they are the one who truly loves Jesus in faith, and not just giving Him lip service.

I love your random stream of babble. It's almost as coherent as that story book you are waving around. The real Hell was a dump near buy Jerusalem, and heaven is the unknowable distance into the sky. Through the accumulation of scientific knowlege and understanding we more now then what any ancient could ever comprehend. It's an old book with great moral platitudes, but taking it literally is a bad mistake. Fear can be used to motivate people to commit horrors on earth as well.
