  • What needs to be standardized is the languages of curriculum and assessment. If there were a common way to compare disparate state and local models (including at specific universities) like a Curriculum Markup Language, then different teaching and assessment approaches can be modularized and evaluated based on each learner's proficiency delta. Great point about time based learning - it's time for mastery based education, a la Khan Academy.
