The New, 13th Zodiac Sign: Ophiuchus!

Jon discusses today's announcement from the Minnesota Planetarium Society that there's a new, 13th sign of the Zodiac calendar, Ophiuchus.

The "New" Calendar:
Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16.
Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11.
Pisces: March 11-April 18.
Aries: April 18-May 13.
Taurus: May 13-June 21.
Gemini: June 21-July 20.
Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10.
Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16.
Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30.
Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23.
Scorpio: Nov. 23-29.
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29-Dec. 17.
Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20.

A lot of people have had their signs changed so we tend not to accept Ophiuchus. However we must accept that the Zodiac is not based on the 12 month cycle of the Earth, but the 13 month cycle of the Moon and the ellipse of the sun. It passes through all of the original 12 and Ophiuchus. We cannot argue with the truth. I was reluctant to switch, too. But I've actually grown to love going from Aquarius to Capricorn. Just try and we can slowly integrate the Serpent Bearer into today's system.
