Penn State provides quality training for new deputy sheriffs

For Pennsylvania deputy sheriffs, there is only one place to go for complete certification and that is the Penn State Justice and Safety Institute (JASI).

JASI's diverse group of instructors have trained thousands of deputies in partnership with the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and its Deputy Sheriffs' Education and Training Board.

Deputies can participate in a 19-week basic training program or a two-week waiver program for deputies with previous police training.
