[From "Kovacs Corner" on YouTube.com] - One of Edie Adams' most noted impersonations that she performed on Kovacs' early morning show was that of the late Marilyn Monroe. Here Ernie greets "Marilyn" as she walks down from the aisle at the NBC Studios in New York circa 1955. "Marilyn" then offers a musical rendition of one the most popular songs of the time "The Ballad of Davy Crockett". The director in the control room catches Ernie off guard with an unexpected visual superimposition. It probably sums up Ernie's feelings at the moment quite accurately!

  • I love the raw and improvised quality of this sketch. This is what real "live tv" should always be like. Of course there wil never be another Ernie Kovacs.

  • I wonder if Edie & Ernie knew Marilyn in their Hollywood days?

  • Such a great comedienne, I got to meet Edie not long before she passed away...such a sweetheart! This was such a pleasure to see..thanks for posting!!!

  • No, but I think it's great!
