Davis Wade Stadium celebrates after Alabama QB John Parker Wilson is sacked by Mississippi State defensive end Titus Brown to end the game and give the Bulldogs a 17-12 victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide. This video doesn't do much justice to how loud the stadium really was. Over 56,000 strong, a Mississippi State record.

Sorry the video is shaky at times. I was holding the camera up high to get a better view most of the time.

  • I'm just glad our program is the mark of success for opponents...

  • Not really.

  • Then tell me why the UA/MSU game was one the few yall have sold-out. Then tell me why so many MSU fans have said the exact same thing my original post said. (By the way, I live in Starkville.)

  • First of all, we were coming off the win over UK. It was one of the biggest wins we've had in years, and it fired up the fan base. We were starved for excitement. Second, one more win would give us 6 and make us bowl eligible. And third, it was a rivalry game. It doesn't mean your program is a "mark of success" just because we had a big crowd. We had a big crowd for the Egg Bowl, too.

  • MSU/UA a rivalry game!? I'm not even gonna entertain that idea...

My idea of being the mark of success has little to do with the size of the crowd. It has to do with fan comments/reactions/mentality following the game and continuing throughout the season.

  • You're contradicting yourself. If your idea has little to do with the size of the crowd, then why did you make mention of the sellout first?

We were excited about winning an SEC game, to make us bowl eligible for the first time since 2000. I fail to see how this gives any glory to all-mighty Alabama.

  • Congratulations to State on beating us two years in a row.

  • The great thing about comments on Youtube is they are around 10 months later to show how dumb people get when they let their fandom get a hold of them

  • OMG i was sooo there on the other side.... Cheering my ass off... that was the BEST DAY!!!!!

  • Blackout? haha

  • The pick 6 of JP Wilson was the loudest I've ever heard davis wade stadium and I've been going to games for a long time. The punt return for a TD in the egg bowl was loud but didn't really compare to the roar during the 101 yd scamper off the pick.

  • What gets me about Alabama fans is that they think because they were good in the seventies, they should still, through some unlogical leap of miscalculation, be good in 2009. They were good in 2009, but the sun shines on even a dog's butt every now and then. By the by, every one else is tired of talking about Bear Bryant and Nick Saban and how your rivalry with Auburn is the best ever. To put it bluntly, the rest of the SEC doesn't care.

  • We all showed up because we hate Bama's guts (along with everyone else in the nation) and were hoping you'd get beat. Again.

  • haha go state. that is great 2 in a row of the tide. bwahaha

  • You Tide boys need to get over it. MSU has beaten you two years in a row, period. And no, I'm not an MSU fan, but MY team has beaten you the last two times also, the #2 nationally ranked Georgia Bulldogs...

Wait a minute....I hear that beep beep sound one hears when a truck is backing up....hmmm...must be that Brinks Armored truck backing up to Nick Saban's door, wanting some of that money back......

  • Don't twist my words. I merely noted the crowd, because that is my only point that is illustrated in the video. Unfortunately, we don't have video of my other points to discuss. And just because you alone fail to see what so many of your fans have articulated, doesn't make you or me right or wrong.

All I wanted to do was to lend another perspective, not get into an opinion war. So, let's just go with the facts we each have heard and/or seen, knowing that the other person is wrong. ;-D
