@MLGRacoons Dude, I grew up with PAL and it sure as fuck isn't fun for me, the skewed aspect (it's not just tiny borders) is pretty annoying, but it's nowhere near as bad as the speed difference in gameplay and music (Sonic the Hedgehog in NTSC is a completely different experience, and undeniably superior)! SEGA are assholes for putting absolutely zero effort into localising most of their games for PAL, at least Nintendo were much more thorough in this regard.

who the fuck gives a shit, if you live in pal regions you grew up with 50hz and its fun to you ,and if you grew up in ntsc regions you grew up with 60 hz and its fun to you, who the fuck cares about tiny borders on pal!

He is playing the PAL version at 60Hz, the game is running too fast.
If you play the actual NTSC copy of Street Fighter II Champion Edition at 60Hz it doesn't run much different than the PAL Version does at 50...

@svcxac they say NTSC has the frame rate and PAL had the quality

btw i ve played ntsc street fighter edition and is so stupid , everything goes so fast , if u used to be a pro on pal u are a pro in ntsc , u just win a bit faster but acerall thats so lame , blanka jumps 3 meters up and down in 0.3 secs... japs need to learn about physics
same thing on wipeout the pal version rocked for its handling , in jap version the antigravity effect was looking more like a glitch rather than effect ...
PHYSICS makes the game look real ALONG WITH THE RIGHT COLOR !

I'm really happy that we got 60HZ pal nowadays

NTSC is black and with only ! (its a joke.....)

@svcxac more 60-55% since america and japan aren't the only countries with game studios :)

@Nivicoman yep, the colour phases alternate every line. i dont know about the mains frequency locking though, the H-hold and V- hold controls lock the synchronisation, mainly because the mains is never exactly 50 hertz and would cause problems. This is why you can play a NTSC system on a PAL TV by adjusting the V and H-hold controls (but the colours will all be wrong).

@matthewwood2010 Am I correct PAL is Phase Alternate Line which is every other scan line being opposite in phase to the previous line to cancel noise. SECAM being (French to English) Colour Sequence With Memory giving better Colour quality in France, Eastern Europe, parts of Africa etc. In either case the mains frequency is used to lock transmitter and receiver in sync.
PAL is damn slow and shit! I'm really bitter because of PAL being slower and having boarders!
