N700-7000 shinkansen set S1, at Hakata 17/06/2009

The N700-7000 is the new, modified version of the N700 shinkansen being delivered to JR-West and JR-Kyushu. It's 8 cars instead of 16, the external livery is subtly different (and in my opinion is nicer) and it does not have the tilting feature of the previous version (though as it will mainly run on the island of Kyushu and the Sanyo shinkansen, it won't need to tilt).

It's seen here on a test run leaving Hakata (on the island of Kyushu, Japan) headed towards Shin-Osaka. A Japanese railfan is in shot taking photos. I could have avoided him but it's interesting to see Japanese railfans in action.
