Come see Guy was one of the first major groups to mix Hip-Hop sounds with R&B. The group featured Teddy Riley and brothers Aaron Hall and Damion Hall.

Riley is credited with the development of a new sound in R&B called New Jack Swing.

Using this sound, Guy was signed to the now legendary label Uptown Records, which was founded by Andre Harrell.

  • @troyacenupe LOL. Shit i feel ya bruh. Hell, i was a s-curl man back n those days myself. LOL

  • @therealraybaby Aaron had a flattop/hi-top fade when Guy dropped....the baldie came much later. I can call that because me and my crew all thought WE were Guy when we headed to the clubs in '88...LOL!

  • @passion4posh Oh i see. But if ya really wanna get real about it all then Lenny Williams is truly the one Aaron & Kells emulated. 2 me, Uncle Charlie will always be associated with all the Funk legends he started out with like Cameo, Kool & Gang, Barkays, Ohio Players, Parliment, Rick James etc.

  • @therealraybaby oh no i wasnt comparing them the Uncle Charlie.I meant they copied his vocals and his style of singing.I been around since before the 70's ,I remember when they all came out .Aaron(remade yearning for your love) has acknowledged Charlies influence in his career and Charlie has sang Lets Chill in his concert. R kelly was influnced by both,

  • @passion4posh Well, not really because Uncle Charlie was really in a class all by himself as far as style was concerned. He came up during the American Funk boom of da later 70's. Aaron came about a decade later & had a new vocal sound & a ball head look.Kells hit da scene bout 5 years later & had a very similar vocal sound & ball head look. So really ,uncle Charlie was no comparision 2 either of those 2 young cats. However, the one thing they all shared in common was that party R&B vibe sound.

  • Aaron looks better than he did in 89 !

  • @therealraybaby

Charlie Wilson the original Aaron Hall the original R kelly

  • Aaron Hall da original R. Kelly!
