So it's turbocharged....?
Does that mean it can fly higher like other turbocharged planes?

i had my eyes set on the dhc beaver, but this is wow

@BenGaut Yeah but this plane is about speed end economy. You cannot compare other planes that consume 2 or even 3 times the fuel* with it O_o
*depending on flight level

@heinrich97 For the same price as a new DA42, you could get a ten year old Baron. They'll cruise around 200 knots and are much larger. Granted, you'll burn more fuel and won't have the G1000, but I think the size and speed difference is worth it.
Another option is a Cessna 310. They'll cruise around 180 as well, but they're also much larger. It's really a matter of looking around and seeing what you like.

@BenGaut Tell me about the better options.

The DA42 is a great aircraft to fly, but the problem is that it is underpowered in flight, therefore it doesn't go very fast. From what I remember flying it, its true airspeed was ~180kts. As a personal aircraft to get from A to B, there are much better options. But as it was stated in the video, it's a great aircraft for jet transition training. It really does fly like a jet. Just slower.

I wouldn't buy one of those. It looks very un-sexy.

A dream to fly as well according to one of my Instructor's. In fact he said it was too nice - its nice for aircraft to have a personality and I think the DA42 comes close to not having one but what a great CPL / IR platform for training on.

my dream plane
What an absolutely gorgeous plane. If a shark could fly it would look like this plane. Garmin G1000 Main and MFD Glass cockpit! Nice! The way that the tail boom tapers down with it's ventral fins is beautiful.
