Nintendo DS vs. DS Lite

This is a side-by-side comparison of the graphics on an original Nintendo DS versus a Nintendo DS Lite.

The original DS is on the left, has the screen backlighting on, and is playing Pokemon Diamond.

The DS Lite is on the right, has the screen backlighting set on 2 (Medium-Low), and is playing Pokemon Pearl.

These two games have identical intro movies.

The systems are out of any direct light, and there is no illumination from the camera. The camera used is a Sony Cybershot DSC-W1, mounted on a tripod.

I always liked the original DS. I mean, its meant to last. My brothers DS lite broke its hinge 2 months after he bought it. Mine however I dropped 40+ times, still works, nothing loose or anything. I guess the DS is good for people who cant hold on to things properly. :/

I like the Lite better considering its weight is less, it's smaller, and its screen is brighter.

Because the original Nintendo DS (Nintendo DS E3 2004) was more fat.

And it was a little more larger than Nintendo DS Lite (2006)

I own the original DS and my little brother has the DS Lite. Now, I agree that the DS Lite has better sound and lighting quality, but in my opinion, I prefer the original DS over the Lite.

Reason why I say this is I get bothered by super bright lights and my hands fit it better than the Lite. However, the power slider on the side on the DS Lite is better than the button on the original. I have raged so many times because I accidentally hit the power button on mine and realized I forgot to save.

If you want my honest opinion, the original ds is just as good. Your paying £10 more for one which is slightly smaller and lighter! Both of them seem just as good light wise. And i'm not being biased since i've got the ds lite anyway!

The DS is better then the DS lite, because the hinge dosent crack, its bigger, and even though its not the best light you can stull see it and if you put it to high brightness on the ds lite it drains alot of battery.
