Joanne Zeis receives the American Medical Association's 2006 "Citation for Distinguished Service" award for her ongoing work in Behcet's disease. The award was presented on November 11, 2006 at Bally's Event Center in Las Vegas, NV, with 1000 AMA physician delegates in attendance.
I am so thankful of the wealth of knowledge i've found online concerning this disease, i have been suffering through it since first coming down with the symptoms back in 2001 and i took two years to diagnosis it correctly by my rhmatologist.

I am walking quad with a spinal cord injury (SCI) from a car wreck, a PT and I have Behcet's disease. I cannot get a needed surgery because of the confusing confounding Behcet's symptoms. Doctors are baffled, afraid, will not listen. I have been referred on and on and on with not a single doctor of the now 13 I have seen stopping to listen and follow through. We need more awarenesss. We need help. We need medical profession to listen. Thank you for this YouTube video. We need many more.

As a sufferer of Behcet's Disease, I applaud the inclusion of this video on YouTube. I send Joanne my congratulations for the work that she's done and for recieving this award.
I am a Hollywood Actor and I have recently produced a Public Service Announcement at my own expense for the American Behcet's Disease Association. I'd love to connect our two videos together here on youtube.
