Every year, on the second week-end of August, Mont-Tremblant in Quebec Canada is holding an event called "Tremblant Under The Stars". Specially, the top of the mountain is open to visitors up to midnight to watch the stars and the end of the perseids period (I did saw a couple of them along with some satellite passing by). This year, we were pleased to see that the communication tower beacon had been turned off and air traffic was rerouted away from our viewing area... pretty neat uh !
I whent there with some good friends and just before we prepared ourself to watch the stars, we decided to go up the observation tower which stands about 875 meters above sea level. The view was superb so I have tried to capture this with my little camera in HD.
Mont-Tremblant is among the tallest peak in the Laurentians. Mainly, it's a great ski ressort but a lot of event are held throughout the year and this one is one of my favorites. Other great time to visit Mt-Tremblant is for the blues festival and during Autumn where the colors are spectacular.
We had a wonderful night with clear sky and no moon. Almost perfect darkness to watch the spectacular star show (besides some weirdos trying to take picutre of the sky with their flash enabled... duh...)
The video montage is done Windows Movie Maker and using a Panasonic DMC-ZS3. It's a little bit shaky but it is among the first video I take with this camera so I need some more practice.
Hope you enjoy the view like I did.
