@goabigail HELLOOO. We all already know that! The point that she is trying to make is that there is some thought-process to traditional dances. The point is to master these basic moves so that you can express your creativity and spirit when the music plays. I mean do you actually watch African dance? Ofcourse the most important elements are rhythm but there is some basic moves that keep the tradition going on for centuries and that is why it feels so natural to us. damn.

@lelightful THUMBS DOWN UR COMMENT! I usually don't behave rudely on youtube but I HAVE to for you comment! There is nothing wrong with black people (if your black, u have African orgin ok) trying to find their culture and share it with the world! If it weren't for traditional African dance we wouldn't have hip-hop, the charlston, tap, or most of the dances we have today! Damn what happened to the sense of appreciation! I swear if you forget the roots and the past, the future will be a dark one!

Good.

Although, in retrospect, nobody ever says "This is a Eurpoean dance" or "This is a North American" dance. In that respect, I can see your point. I guess we can attribute that to ignorance about Africa in general. Your point is well taken.

I see so many negative comments following clips like this. Every country has many dances. In Ireland they have different set dances for different counties, for example. In the US we don't all square dance, we don't all swing dance, we don't all hip hop or waltz. So why get so annoyed when someone wants to take the time to show a dance step or two just because it's not the way you do it? No one is suggesting that all of Africa dances the same. That's would be ridiculous.
