I lived most of my life here in the states, and since day 1, my family has always listened to and danced Joropo, I guess that is the difference coming from venezuelan and you from colombian heritage. The Joropo is part of every venezuelans daily life, school, TV-comercials, on the radio, in parties,Musical events,Sporting-events, church even our baby-sleep sons,ect...Joropo is Venezuela's national dance.And Venezuela is Joropo!.

I'm Colombian-American. Spent most of my life in the U.S. and it bothers me to not experience more of my culture. I had no idea that Venezuela and Colombia danced Joropo. I mean, I would think it's different, but no, it's not! So fresh to see this.
